Chocoholics from around the island came to Dole Cannery on Saturday, Feb. 25, to experience the chocolate festival. The chocolate festival took place at Dole Cannery Shops from noon to 5.p.m. One could only imagine what great wonders of chocolate could come from this event.
Once I got in line in the Dole Cannery shops to get in to the chocolate Festival. I could see all the chocolate vendors from all over the State setting up their wonderful chocolates. When you turned in your ticket or pay with cash at the check in area. You are given a passport, which is your ticket to try up to 10 different chocolate samples. It is a hard choice to make up your mind in which 10 samples of chocolate to chose from out of the 30 vendors that were there. There was one vendor that had the longest line for their chocolate samples. Tiki’s Grill and Bar had their executive chef Ronnie Nasuti making a special chocolate Fettuccini, which was the main talk of the festival. People were willing to stand in line for five to 10 minutes to get their hands on the chocolate fettuccine.
Having tried all different chocolates made from Maui, Oahu and Big Island, each island has a unique flavor to its chocolate that makes it special. It was a very nice event but at times it got really crowded.
