As you may have heard, the new store opening in Ala Moana Center this week, across from the Apple store, is the Microsoft store. The store officially opens Thursday, June 13 at 11 a.m. But the fun starts Wednesday night.
Microsoft is inviting customers to start lining up outside the store at 10 p.m. Wednesday night for a chance to win tickets to see a live concert in the Kaka’ako Waterfront Park. Who is playing? Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Neon Trees.
The catch is that if you want to get free tickets to the exclusive concert, you have to stay the night. No big deal, right? People stay the night at the mall every year after Thanksgiving to get the best deals and, at this time of year, at least the weather is nicer. At 10:30 a.m. on Thursday the festivities begin and at 11 a.m. tickets will be given out to the loyal fans who spent the night. At 2 p.m. people are encouraged to start lining up at the Waterfront Park, before the gates open at 4 p.m. And at six, the concert is expected to start.
What does this mean for you as a KCC student? The Microsoft store opening means that there is an alternative to the iPad that you can purchase and have serviced locally. Here is a link to the latest commercial about the Windows 8 Tablet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86JMcy5OqZA
Also, if you are not in summer school or don’t have class this week, check out the concert and send us your pictures at kapio@hawaii.edu.
