Valentine’s Day brings smiles

The International Cafe, Japanese 290 students and Linda Fujikawa went over to the Leahi Hospital on Valentine’s day to spread some cheer.

The students put on a fashion show for the residents and showed them how to properly put on a yukata, or summer kimono and tie an obi around their waist. Female students tied the traditional obi and the male students demonstrated the samurai bow.

After the fashion show, the students presented handmade roses to the residents as a thank you. The students also sang and exercised and thanked all the residents for all of their life experiences and sacrifices, and benefitted everyone.
